Ginostra is a small
village (hamlet) on the
(active volcanic)
island of Stromboli. It
has a (permanent)
population of 27
inhabitants and seven
donkeys. This hamlet
is accessible through
the smallest port in
the world. There is no
running water or
electricity; and,
automotive vechicles
are not permitted.
The purpose of the
Association; which
was created in 1994:
is the protection of
this hamlet; which is
unique in the
Mediterranean Sea.
